Dust - Overview

Dust is a top-down, adventure game drawing inspiration from a few predictable sources, The Legend of Zelda and Dark Souls, as well as Left 4 Dead, Helldivers, and Battle Royale games. A calamity overtakes the world in real-time, forcing the player to press onward into procedurally generated, unknown territory. The player is a stranger in a strange land, and must learn the language of a foreign country. NPCs react to the player and oncoming end of days in their own ways, resulting in emergent behaviors.

Combat

There multiple control schemes suited to players that prefer either third person, Zelda and Souls-like combat, or twin-stick shooter combat.

An AI Director system determines how many of whichever enemy types descend on the player at any given time.
